About Reiki

Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that a person’s supply of life energy can be activated by means of touch. The treatment of Reiki helps to promote relaxation and significantly reduce stress, tension, anxiety, and depression. Reiki removes energy blockages and adjusts the flow of Qi, or energy. This brings the body into balance and harmony.

The Reiki Session

You will lay face up on the Reiki table, in a meditative pose, with palms face up. The practitioner then places his/her hands in different positions around your head and shoulders, abdomen and feet.

It is common for clients to feel hot or cool sensations. Additionally, you may feel like you have entered a deep meditation and also feel as if you are in an alternative state of mind. After a session is finished, it can take a few minutes to feel grounded again. You may feel relaxed, have an emotional release, or clear minded. Everyone will have a different Reiki experience and leave feeling energetically changed.

Session Length

Sessions can be anywhere from 30 min to 2 hours. Depending on how much time you have and what your body needs. If desired, we make time to have a small session talk about how you feel after the treatment. We find that most people like to have the time after their session to talk about what they felt throughout the treatment and to ask any questions or thoughts that come to mind.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for a reiki treatment?

You do not need to prepare. It is great to come in relaxed, but most people are seeking treatments for relaxation. Just have an open mind, acknowledge this time for yourself and your well being, and let the universe allow the energy to flow where it needs.
