Float therapy is a zero gravity, sensory deprivation experience for your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

WET FLOATATION

We have two luxurious float rooms, each filled with warm water, hundreds of pounds of Epsom salt, and complete dark and silence, allowing you to relax and withdraw completely from the hustle and bustle of New York City.

DRY FLOATATION: Only at Floating Lotus!

Floating Lotus is the first Float Center in the country to offer both Wet and Dry Floatation – our custom built dry floatation table offers you all the benefits of traditional floatation, without getting wet. You can check in, lay down and float away.

We offer 20-, 30- and 60-minute dry float sessions, giving you options to recenter and recharge during a busy day at work.

WHAT TO EXPECT/PREPARATION

WET FLOAT

The entire experience is 90 minutes, including 30 minutes for pre- and post-floatation preparation and 60 minutes immersed in the float tank. 

We provide everything you’ll need for the float session in your private float room, including fresh towels, ear plugs, shampoo and soap, and a hair dryer.

BEFORE YOUR FLOAT SESSION

We recommend against:

  • Floating on the first day of your menstrual cycle
  • Drinking caffeine less than three hours before your float
  • Shaving on the day of your float session (because the water has a high salt content, some people find it irritating to freshly shaved skin)

USING THE FLOAT ROOM

After a quick shower, you will enter the tank and gently lay down for 50 – 80 minutes of total silence. As the session comes to an end, the lights turn on indicating that you may leave the tank. 

The tank door is fully controllable from within and you can choose whether to float with the door open or closed. There is also an interior light for those who aren’t comfortable in the dark.

AFTER YOUR FLOAT SESSION

Take a shower to wash away the salt from your skin. Once you are changed, we recommend relaxing for a few minutes in our sitting area to help prepare you to reintegrate into the city.

DRY FLOAT

We offer a range of dry float treatments, from 20 minutes to 30 minutes, to as long as 60 minutes. We provide everything you’ll need for the float session in your private room, including an eye mask and headphones for the full floatation experience.

USING THE FLOAT ROOM

When you enter the room, you’ll see the float table and will be given headphones and an eye mask, and we’ll give you a few minutes to prepare before the session begins. Depending on your comfort level, you may opt to remove some or part of your clothing, though it’s not totally necessary. 

Once you lie down, a staff member will start the dry float. We encourage you to relax, meditate, and fall into the zero gravity sensation that floatation offers. After the allotted time, a light will turn on indicating the session is complete. You’ll have a few minutes to gather your things and put any clothes back on. 

AFTER YOUR FLOAT SESSION

Once you exit the dry float room, we recommend relaxing for a few minutes in our sitting area to help prepare you to reintegrate into the city.
